Oriental Inspiration Stamping

Hi There

I don't know where this design came from a bit weird really as I was going to do a Fleur De Lis design.

I started with 1 coat of Nails Inc Chelsea London Bridge Road which is a foil effect nail varnish

I then took my Konad dupe M66 Plate

I stamped down the side of my nail using the bamboo image using Essie Going Incognito (a dark green)

I thought that this looked a little bare so I took the same M66 plate and stamped the butterfly next to the bamboo at the base of the nail using Barry M in Pink Flamingo

This is the finished look

What do you think? it's been a bit of a short post today

Fantastic Foil and Stamping

Hi There

Today with the help of my fake finger I will be doing a nail foil mani with some stamping thrown in.

Firstly I painted my nail with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Ruby Rush a lovely purple colour. You don't have to do this step it just helps hide and bits you might miss when adding the foil

I then added a coat of foil glue. You only need a thin layer of the glue and it is white and does streak on your nail. It will end up looking like this

What we need to do now is wait for the glue to go tacky when it does it goes completely clear and will look like the first picture again. Once the glue is tacky you need to take a piece of foil slightly larger than your nail, and with the patterned side facing you press it onto the nail and smooth it out with a cotton bud or orange stick etc so that the foil is smooth on your nail. Once you are happy you need to remove the foil in 1 quick motion (as if you were taking off a plaster) and this is what you will be left with

You could leave your nails like this but I decided to stamp on my nail. For this I used Mo You Salon Pro Plate IV and this image. (I got my foils from Amazon they are by Bundle Monster but there are lots of different sellers and designs out there).

I used Zoya in Laney to stamp the image twice up the nail

This is the finished design

Jumping Dolphins Stamping

Hi There

I am going to do a really easy under the water themed mani today.

I started with 2 coats of Barry M's new Aquarium polish in Arabian a metallic green colour. I love these colours, you can't see very well on the image but they are so multi tonal and shimmery I had to buy the whole collection.

I then stamped using this dolphin image from the Mo You Salon Pro IV plate

I stamped the dolphin in Sally Hansen Insta Dri Brisk blue. I then thought it needed a bit of sparkle to represent the way the sun shines on the sea so I went over the whole design with OPI's Snowflakes In The Air a beautiful hex glitter polish.

This is the fnished look

Monochrome Animal Print Stamping

Hi There

I have been looking at this image for a while and could never think of what to do with it. Again I will be using my fake finger as my nails are still really short and painful. So let's get started

I started with 2 coats of white nail varnish in Snow me White by Sinful Colors

I then added a layer of glitter I used Pirouette My Whistle by OPI

You can't see it very well but it is there. I then used Mo You Salon Pro Plate VI and the bottom middle image

I stamped this onto the nail using Sinful Colors Black On Black. When stamping with the Salon Pro Plates from Mo You I use an XL stamper as the Konad regular stamper is too small to pick up the entire image

This is the finished look

Butterfly Decal & Stamping

Hi There

Today I have had a disaster :( yes my nail broke and I couldn't save it so I now have stumps for nails (cry). Not to worry though because I have my trusty fake finger on hand to help me out. I know it's not the same but it's the next best thing. Right self pity over lets get started.

I painted the nail with 2 coats of Dove by Zoya (no base coat required as not my nails)

I know it looks a bit weird but bare with me until my nails grow back. I used 2 plates for this design one from Konad which is plate M20 and one from Cheeky which is CH12

I used the butterfly design in the middle of the Konad M20 plate to do my decal. I painted 2 coats of top coat onto a plastic sheet and waited for it to dry. I then stamped the butterfly from plate M20 onto the square using Sinful Colours Black On Black.

I coloured in the butterfly using Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in I Pink I Can, Essie Turquoise & Caicos and Essie Warm Toasty Turtleneck. I then peeled the decal off the plastic, trimmed it down and whilst the paint was still tacky placed it on the nail. I did this because every time I put a top coat on first I smudge the original nail colour. I then stamped the 4 small flowers from plate CH12 onto the top and base of my nail in Sinful Colours Black on Black.

This is the finished design

Spring Is In The Air Stamping

Hi There

As we are now in Spring I thought I would do a spring manicure as I was inspired by the colours I have used.

I started with my usual base coat Sally Hansen As Hard As Nails Strengthener, followed by 1 coat of Sinful Colours Snow Me White

This step doesn't have to be neat as we are going to do a gradient over the top. For the gradient I took a piece of make up sponge and painted 3 stripes across the sponge using OPI Berlin There Done That, Nicole by OPI Am I Making Myself Claire and Nicole by OPI Alex By The books.

I think this is really pretty on it's own but I wanted to do some stamping over the top so I used plates Pueen 46 and BM221

I stamped all my nails using BM221 and the top flower image using Sinful Colours Snow Me White, and as it is spring I thought my nails needed a butterfly so I stamped my thumb and ring finger with a butterfly using the butterfly image on Pueen plate 46 I stamped using Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Good To Grape

This is the finished design

3D Playboy Bunny Decal Manicure

Hi There

Today I decided to play with my 3d moulds. These are the items I used to create the design

I started with my base coat Sally Hansen Hard As Nail Strengthener.  followed by 2 coats of my base colour Barry M's Silk collection in Blossom (a girly pink with a splash of shimmer).

I then put some acrylic liquid in my dampen dish and took a number 4 acrylic brush and acrylic liquid. I used the brush to place the pink acrylic powder (shown in the image above) into the playboy bunny mould. I left it for a couple of minutes  it to dry slightly. When I could twist the mould and the image came away from the edges I removed the 3d image. I then used top coat to attach the decal to my nails.

This is the finished design

These are the colours and plates that I used

I painted my thumb and middle finger with NYC High Line Green and my index, ring and little fingers in NYC Mint Macaroon

Finally I stamped my thumb and middle finger with the right shamrock image on plate BM-H05 using NYC Foil Explosion in Magic Earth. I stamped my ring finger with the shamrock image on plate BM-H04 using NYC High Line Green.

Pueen Buffet Plate Nail Design

Hi There

Yey my Pueen Buffet Plates have arrived and I had to try them immediately. The idea was that I have a play to see if they were any good. I soon realised that they were great and the mani I was doing looked too good to take off so I thought I would put it on my blog.

I started with my base coat Sally Hansen As Hard As Nails Strengthener. I then put 3 coats of NYC Frozen Silver on all my nails (a really sheer purple shimmer polish).

I then used my new pueen plates numbers 59 and 73

I stamped on my thumb, ring and little fingers with plate 73 and index and middle fingers I stamped using plate 59
This is the finished design

Holographic Stars Stamping

Hi There

I thought this idea might be a good choice for a night out

I started with my usual base coat Sally Hansen As Hard As Nails Strengthener. Followed by 1 coat of Licorice by Essie (this nail varnish is that opaque it only needs 1 coat) on all of my nails

 I then took plate YH810

and used the star image

I stamped this image on my thumb, middle and ring fingers using China Glaze Don't be a Luna-tic which is a holographic silvery blue colour
I then put 1 coat of Nails Inc Electric Lane holographic topcoat on my index and little fingers
This is the finished look
Unfortunately you can't see the holographic effect very well in the picture but in person it is so sparkly it's unbelievable

Happy Birthday 2 Me

Hi There

So it was my birthday yesterday so I did a birthday mani to mark the occasion.

I used my usual base coat Sally Hansen As Hard As Nails Strengthener.
I then painted my thumb and ring finger in Peach Smoothie a scented nail varnish from Revlon (smells yummy) and my index, middle and little fingers in Sorbet by Revlon

I used Mo You London Pro Collection 04 plate and the cupcake design to make a decal

I used Nails Inc Fulham Palace Gardens (one of the sprinkles collection) to colour in the icing on the cupcakes the polish contains glitter to make the cupcake look like it has sprikles on it. I used Barry M Matte nail polish in Caramel for the paper case.

This is the finished mani

Nail Stamping with 3D Acrylic Decals

Hi There

Today I have done a stamping manicure and embellished it with some 3D acrylic nail decals

I used my usual base coat Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Strengthener, followed with 2 coats of my base colour Take A Trek by China Glaze (one of their holographic polishes).

I then used stamping plate M65
I used the bottom left image. I used masking tape to cover half of my nail diagonally so that only half was stamped with the image

To give the stamping a finished look I used a striping brush to put a stripe down the side of the stamping. For this I used Amazing Shine Nail Art Liner in black

I then decided to make some 3d nail decals. For this I used nail sculpting liquid, black acrylic powder and acrylic brush

You will also need a silicone 3d mold I got mine from Amazon.co.uk and the ones I got were a pack of 30 although you can buy them individually. I decided to use the bows

I dipped my bush into the sculpting liquid and the into the black acrylic powder, I then put this into the mold. I used my scraper from my stamping set to remove the excess.

I waited for this to dry. You can tell when it is dry as the design pulls away from the mold when you twist it. I then took a little topcoat and put it where I wanted my bow to go and stuck it to my nail
This is the finished design not using the flash on my camera

This is the finished design with the flash on my camera (just to show you the holographic effect)

Upside Down Vine Stamping

Hi There

Just received a new stamping plate in the post so I thought I would put it through its paces

I started with my usual base coat Sally Hansen Hard As Nails and then put 2 coats of Maybelline In Your Flesh on all my nails
I then added 1 coat of Maybelline Bronze Me Up glitter polish to my little finger
I stamped using the image that looks like a vine but it looks like it's growing down instead of up hence the name upside down vine. The plate I used was plate O. Here is an image of the plate (sorry about my sisters reflection).
This is the image I used
I then stamped on my ring and middle fingers using Sinful Colors Winterberry and this is the finished mani
